My Thoughts on the 2024 Michigan Primary
Hello. My name is Jared Weathers. We are almost 3 weeks out on the Primary in my state. Now I have some thoughts. So allow me to ramble for a couple minutes, and at the end I will tell you who I am voting for. As we gear up for another election cycle, I am gonna be completely honest. I am sick of seeing old men in this shit. I know a lot of you agree. Now while we might have some differing views on how to change this, we can all agree it is getting old, pun intended.
Now we will get back to that a little later but for now I wanna go over some issues we need more people need to think about. The first one is abortion. A big one for me, as I am related to women. Amazing I know. Having access to abortion is more important than whatever people is bad about it. It saves lives. If someone is having a miscarriage they need to have an abortion so they don’t die from it. Since sometimes the body doesn’t always get rid of it by itself. Take the lady in Texas that tried to sue the state to get one. This kills more women than babies it saves. If you are pro-life, you should be pro-choice. Living people should be our #1 priority. They are already born and conscience and experiencing life. A fetus does not do this, as it does not have brain function. You can disagree with me on that but since it is not born I do not consider it life. The main takeaway from this is ACCESS SAVES LIVES.
Second, gun restrictions. Even people who are super pro 2A agree we should make it hard for criminals or people with mental issues to access guns. As long as a background checks come back clear you shouldn’t care. We also NEED to close the gun show loophole. Either make them do background checks or ban gun shows.
Third, and finally, end the war on drugs. We have spent trillions on this fake war made up by Richard Nixon. It has gone nowhere and cops are arresting people for using but not the dealers selling it. Why? Wouldn’t you want to lock up the dealers to end the using? We also need to start doing what Georgia did a few years ago and put needle exchanges in spots they are needed. A safe place to use.
